Tigers Host Stormy Petrels in Battle of Nationally-ranked Teams

Pink-Zone-Web-Large.jpgFebruary 19, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — The Tigers return home for the final regular season Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend when they host Oglethorpe tomorrow night. Tipoff from the Neal Fieldhouse in the Lilly Center is set for 8 p.m.

The weekend games also support the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Pink Zone initiatives to fight breast cancer.

DePauw, ranked 18th by D3hoops.com and 20th in the USA Today ESPN Coaches' Poll, is 19-4 overall and 10-2 in SCAC play after Saturday's 74-62 loss at Centre. That loss snapped the Tigers' 16-game win streak. The Tigers have won all 11 home games this season and have won 37 straight overall at the Neal Fieldhouse.

Fourth-ranked Oglethorpe is 21-2 overall and 11-1 in the conference after Sunday's 83-58 home win over Birmingham-Southern.

The Stormy Petrels won the December 5 meeting in Atlanta by an 84-81 score. In that game, Katie Mathews and Emily Marshall each scored 14 for the Tigers while Katie Kulavic led Oglethorpe with 20.
