J. Nichols '89 Joins Save Our Shores Board

March 2, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Wallace J. Nichols, a 1989 graduate of DePauw University, has joined the board of directors of Save Our Shores, a non-profit marine conservation organization in Santa Cruz, California.
An announcement in the Santa Cruz Sentinel notes, "Nichols studied at DePauw University, did graduate studies at Duke University and University of Arizona, academic research as a Fulbright fellow, and was a research associate at the California Academy of Sciences. In 1998, he founded Grupo Tortuguero, an international grassroots movement dedicated to Pacific sea turtles and sustainable management of ocean fisheries. In 1999, he co-founded and for five years directed WiLDCOAST, an international team dedicated to protecting coastal wilderness. He currently spearheads Ocean Revolution, a program to inspire and mentor a new generation of ocean conservation leaders."
