Prof. Tony Catanese to Address State Department Symposium on Haiti

Catanese, professor of economics and management at DePauw University, has been invited by the U.S. State Department to serve as a panelist for a symposium on Haiti which will take place on March 16 in Washington, D.C. The professor will speak on "Haiti's Migration Time Bomb, Implications for the United States."

Dr. Catanese authored the 1999 book, Haitians: Migration And Diaspora, and written papers on Haiti for the Canadian Journal of Development Studies and Journal of Developing Areas, and presented papers at the annual meetings of the Western Economics Association and Haitian Studies Association. He has lived and worked in Haiti's rural areas for many years.
