DePauw Finishes 39th in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup

June 19, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Led by three teams finishing in the top nine in their respective NCAA Championships and two others in the top 20, DePauw finished 39th in the 2008-09 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division III Final Standings.
The Directors' Cup is a program which began in Division III in 1995-96 and honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program and achieving success in both men's and women's sports.
Totaling 366.85 points, DePauw recorded its seventh top-40 finish overall and fifth straight in the 14-year history of the program. The Tigers placed in the top 20 each of the last three years. The Tigers' 39th-place showing also marked the 14th time in as many years that DePauw ranked ahead of all other Indiana Division III institutions.
The Tigers' women's basketball team made its sixth straight NCAA appearance and 10th in the last 14 years after earning an at-large bid to the tournament, while the women's cross country team finished 26th.
Lauren Reich represented the women's track and field team at the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships and earned all-America honors in two outdoor events as the Tigers finished in a tie for 62nd.
DePauw teams finished the year with a 206-95-8 record for a .680 winning percentage as the Tigers captured their fourth consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference President's Trophy.
