Cara Duckworth '02 to be RIAA's Communications Director

Duckworth, a 2002 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed communications director for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She comes to the trade group representing the U.S. recording industry from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), where she held a similar role. Duckworth begins her new job on June 25.

The move is noted in Variety, which reports, "Prior to working at the MPAA, Duckworth was an aide to various GOP congressmen."

At DePauw, Duckworth majored inDaily Variety Masthead Red.jpg communication and was a member of the field hockey team

"We are delighted to have Cara as part of the team," says RIAA chairman and CEO Mitch Bainwol. "Her strong background and experience will serve us well as we advance issues that help build an exciting marketplace for music fans."
