August 23, 2009
August 23, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Matt MacPherson, running backs coach at Northwestern University and a 1999 graduate of DePauw University, tells the Dayton Daily News, "I love it at Northwestern. A lot of good kids and it's a school that operates within the (NCAA) rules. I don't have to police anybody . . . just coach."
MacPherson is one of three graduates of Ohio's Northridge High School serving on the Wildcats' coaching staff. According to the newspaper, "MacPherson, following an all-conference career at the 'Ridge as a quarterback and linebacker, went on to a highly successful career at Division III DePauw University as a 6-1, 235-pound linebacker who called defensive signals and was team captain his senior year. He worked as a student assistant at DePauw for a year and was hired by the late Randy Walker as a student assistant coach at Northwestern in '06."
