23rd-ranked DePauw Suffers Season's First Loss at Third-Ranked Ohio Wesleyan

September 19, 2009, Delaware, Ohio —  Tyler Wall's penalty kick at 64:27 gave third-ranked Ohio Wesleyan all it needed in a 1-0 win over 23rd-ranked DePauw. The Tigers suffered their first loss and dropped to 3-1-1, while the Battling Bishops improved to 7-0-1.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot DePauw, 24-1, and held a 7-1 edge in corners. Ted Jacobi recorded two saves for the Tigers, while Paul Hendricks had one in recording the shutout for Ohio Wesleyan.

DePauw opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday, September 25, at Sewanee. Game time is set for 5 p.m. CDT.
