Dianne Williams 09-1.jpgNovember 28, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Dianne E. (Senger) Williams, president of Quinebaug Valley Community College and 1967 graduate of DePauw University, is "the recipient of this year's A Friend of CONNTAC Award from the Connecticut Talent Assistance Cooperative," reports Connecticut's Norwich Bulletin. "The group provides support services for low-income, first-generation residents." Williams was cited "for her work in promoting and expanding educational opportunities for Connecticut residents."

"I am especially honored by this award since I myself am a first-generation college attendee, let alone graduate, and would have benefited from the support of an organization like CONNTAC," Williams says.

The newspaper notes, "Williams holds degrees from Indiana's DePauw University and the University of Rhode Island. After 12 years at the former Mohegan Community College as a faculty member, Williams was appointed president of Quinebaug Valley Community College in 1993."
