Tigers Extend Home Court Streak to 40 with Win in Home Opener

December 11, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw tied a school record with 13 three-pointers including eight in the first half and improved to 5-3 with a 90-44 win over Robert Morris-Springfield in the Tigers' home opener. The Eagles dropped to 8-4 with the loss.
The win was also the Tigers' 40th straight at the Neal Fieldhouse and 57th straight in the regular season.
DePauw scored nine straight midway through the first half to extend the early lead to 16 and finished the opening half with a 13-0 run to enter the intermission with a 54-21 lead.
Jenna Fernandez (left) paced the Tigers with 19 points in just 16 minutes, while Lauren Goff added 18 on six three-pointers in only 12 minutes. Brooke Osborne matched a career high with 16 points and established a career best with five assists. Emily Marshall hauled down 12 rebounds in the win with eight on the offensive glass.
Latoya Gipson paced the Eagles with 13 points and Jasmine Mack added 10. Mack and Gipson each had five rebounds, while Tiara Perry had three steals.
The Tigers shot 40.8 percent for the game including 51.4 percent in the first half, while the Eagles hit just 30 percent for the game. DePauw outrebounded Robert Morris-Springfield, 54-30, and committed 14 turnovers to the Eagles' 25. The Tigers snagged 28 offensive rebounds which led to 31 points.
DePauw returns to action on Monday, December 21, when it travels to Baldwin-Wallace for a 5 p.m. contest.
