Tigers Drop to 6-2 with Loss at Wabash

December 11, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Host Wabash scored the game's first six points and never trailed on the way to a 72-50 win over DePauw on Chadwick Court. The Tigers dropped to 6-2 with the loss, while the Little Giants improved to 4-4 and earned a season split with DePauw.
Wabash jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening 2:07 and extended it to 15-4 with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. The Tigers closed the gap to seven, but the Little Giants took a 30-21 lead into the intermission.
The Little Giants opened the second half with a 13-4 run and pushed the lead to 43-25 with 15 minutes remaining. DePauw trimmed it to 48-34 midway through the half, but Wabash scored the next six at the start of a 17-4 stretch which put the Tigers away.
Tom Callen (pictured) led the Tigers with 14, while Steve Lemasters followed with 13 and Sean Haseley added 10. Wes Smith and Chase Haltom each scored 16 for Wabash with Aaron Zinnerman adding 12 and Aaron Brock 10.
Lemasters paced DePauw with six boards, while Brian Shelbourne hauled down nine for the Little Giants who held a 42-32 edge on the glass.
DePauw shot just 30.9 percent from the floor, while Wabash hit 43.9 percent. The Little Giants also outscored the Tigers in the paint, 36-20.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, December 19, when they travel to Earlham for a 2 p.m. contest.
