Tigers Top Sewanee for Sixth Straight Win

January 8, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw shot a season-high 55.8 percent and equaled a school record with 31 assists on the way to a 99-64 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Sewanee.
The Tigers improved to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the SCAC with their 43rd straight home win overall and 60th consecutive regular season win in the Neal Fieldhouse. The win was also DePauw's 48th straight home SCAC victory. Sewanee dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Sewanee held an early 8-5 lead, but DePauw went on a 25-3 run to take a 30-11 advantage. The Tigers took a 52-26 lead into the break and led by as many as 41 in the second half.
Five Tigers scored in double figures led by Emily Marshall who matched a career-high with 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Katie Aldrich added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Jenna Fernandez finished with 14 as well. Lindsay Vandivier scored a career-best 12 and Lauren Goff added 11. Katie Mathews dished out seven assists and Kate Walker finished with five.
Kelly Morrison led Sewanee with 13 points, while Christina Johnson added 11 and Lauren Gulley followed with 10.
DePauw, the Division III leader in rebound margin, held a 57-21 edge on the boards in the win.
DePauw hosts Oglethorpe on Sunday at Noon, while Sewanee travels to Centre for a 1 p.m. game.
