James' Buzzer-Beater Lifts DePauw to Win at Colorado College

January 30, 2010, Colorado Springs, Colo. — Tony James' jumper as time expired lifted DePauw to a 46-44 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Colorado College.
DePauw improved to 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the SCAC, while Colorado College dropped to 11-8 overall and 6-5 in the conference.
Each team led by as many as five in the first half with DePauw taking a 24-23 lead to the break. DePauw led by as many as seven in the second half at 34-27 and the lead was still six before Colorado College scored nine straight to grab a 41-38 lead with 6:19 left.
James (pictured) and Tom Callen each hit buckets to put DePauw back into the lead before the teams went on a three-minute scoring drought.
Sean Haseley's tip-in with 1:09 remaining gave DePauw a 44-41 lead before Brady Ohlsen hit one free throw with 54 seconds left and then knocked down a jumper with just five seconds left to tie the score at 44-44 and set up James' game winner.
Haseley paced the Tigers with 11 points, while David Gray matched a career-high with 15 rebounds as DePauw held a 38-29 advantage on the boards.
Ohlsen paced Colorado College with 19 points with Nick Rose chipping in 12. Ohlsen, Jeremiah Waters and Colin Madden each hauled down five rebounds in the loss.
DePauw shot 41.3 percent from the floor to Colorado College's 29.4 percent which included just 2-of-20 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, February 6, when it hosts Centre at 3 p.m.
