DePauw Set to Host 2010 ITA National Team Indoor Championship

February 24, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw University and its Indoor Tennis and Track Center serve as host to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's Team Indoor Championship, February 26-28.
The three-day tournament features eight of the top 13 ranked women's tennis teams in the latest ITA poll which are seeded based on those rankings.
In Friday's 11:30 a.m. matches, third-ranked Emory faces 13th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus, while sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon takes on eighth-ranked Denison.
The 5 p.m. opening-round matches feature fourth-ranked Chicago against 11th-ranked DePauw and fifth-ranked Washington & Lee versus 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins.
Consolation semifinal matches are slated for 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, with the main draw semifinal matches at 2 p.m. The fifth and seventh-place matches round out Saturday's competition and are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's championship and third-place matches are set for 9 a.m.
Carnegie Mellon won last year's inaugural Championship with a 6-3 win over Emory and Denison defeated Mary Washington for third place. Pomona-Pitzer was fifth followed by DePauw, Gustavus Adolphus and Coe.
