Soultz Earns Third Straight SCAC Pithcher of the Year Honor; Eight Tigers Named All-SCAC

May 7, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Eight DePauw student-athletes earned all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors including senior pitcher Megan Soultz who was named the league's top pitcher for a third straight year in voting by the conference's head coaches. Soultz (right) led the SCAC in several statistical categories including wins and she enters the final weekend of the regular season with a 23-4 record and a 1.38 earned run average. Soultz has posted nine shutouts and 20 complete games. This also marks the fourth straight year that Soultz has earned a spot on the all-SCAC team.
Joining Soultz on the all-SCAC first team were junior second baseman Emma Minx and sophomore third baseman Jen Kosinski. Minx is hitting .408 with a team-best .704 slugging percentage, while Kosinski is batting a team-high .444 and also leading the team with 45 RBI. Minx was a first team all-conference designated player in 2008 and a second team selection at second base last year, while Kosinski was a first team designated player choice last year.
Tigers named to the all-SCAC second team included freshman catcher Amy Hallett, junior first baseman Ashlee Anton and sophomore outfielder Rachel MacBeth. Hallett is hitting .387 and leads the team with a school-record seven homers and is second with 40 RBI. Anton was a second team selection in 2008 and honorable mention last year and is hitting .402 this year. She's committed just one error at first for a .995 fielding percentage. MacBeth, the starting left fielder, is batting .403 and leads the team with 13 sacrifice hits.
Junior shortstop Brianne Weeks and sophomore outfielder Cymone Allen were honorable mention selections.
