Mark Johnson '88 Named Communications Director for NC Governor

June 4, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Mark Johnson, political reporter for the Charlotte Observer and Raleigh News & Observer and 1988 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed communications director for North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue. Johnson has covered three gubernatorial elections, three U.S. Senate elections and eleven sessions of the North Carolina legislature. In 2003, he returned to DePauw to discuss his experiences as an embedded reporter with the 82nd Airborne in Iraq. Read more in this previous story.
