Michael Wanchic '74 Prepares for Another Tour with John Mellencamp

August 16, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Michael Wanchic, longtime guitarist for John Mellencamp and member of DePauw University's Class of 1974, is preparing for another tour with the singer-songwriter. Beginning October 29 and continuing through November 27, Mellencamp will be touring in support of his album, No Better Than This, which will be released tomorrow on Rounder Records. Mike Wanchic has co-produced a number of Mellencamp's hit records and is the longtime director of the 
singer-songwriter's band, of which he's been a member for more than 30 years. Wanchic has also produced a variety of other musicians, including Cowboy Mouth, Blessid Union of Souls, and James McMurtry. In a December 2006 interview, he called DePauw "a great experience."
