DePauw's Commencement Address Featured in NBC Nightly News Piece

cw1996nbc.jpgJune 14, 1996, Greencastle, Ind. — A clip of Cornel West's address to DePauw University's Class of 1996 was featured on this evening's edition of the NBC Nightly News in a piece which provided a wrap-up of this spring's commencement addresses across the United States.  Dr. West is the first speaker to appear in the story, which also includes Henry Winkler (Yale University) and Bill Cosby (Boston College).

West, the celebrated author and professor of religion and African-American studies at Harvard University, addressed DePauw's 444 graduates on May 18.  The professor was also recognized with an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.
