Duane Skoog fb2010.jpgSeptember 13, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "We just want to spread the gospel of aviation," says G. Duane Skoog, technical director for DePauw University's Green Center for the Performing Arts and president of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapter No. 1374. The EAA presented its annual Airport Appreciation Days at the Putnam County Municipal Airport Saturday and Sunday. According to the Banner-Graphic, about 90 local children came to get 20-minute flights over Greencastle and to learn about aviation.

"The best part is to let the kids get excited," Skoog tells the newspaper. "We're here to tell them that flight is not a magical thing. Anybody can do it. It's possible for any kid out there."

Skoog also produced a 1940s-style radio show for the Airport Appreciation Days, which included a number of other DePauw participants.  Details can be found in this recent article.
