DePauw Tops Ohio Wesleyan and Improves to 2-3

September 18, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Two first-half goals lifted DePauw to its second shutout of the season as the squad captured a 3-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at Boswell Field. With the win, the Tigers improved to 2-3, while Ohio Wesleyan dropped to 2-2-2 on the year.
Dana Sprague got DePauw on the board nine minutes into the contest, scoring on an assist from Julia Drummond. Angela Cotherman followed up with an unassisted score at the 28:34 mark, and Drummond added a goal of her own in the second half to secure the 3-0 victory.
The Tigers held a 12-3 advantage in shots and recorded eight corners, while Ohio Wesleyan had two. Ohio Wesleyan’s Margot Klepetko and Hannah Zacharias combined for six saves in goal, while Lauren Palfrey posted her second win of the season in goal for DePauw.
DePauw hosts Oglethorpe in its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Friday, September 24 at 6 p.m.
