DePauw Splits Saturday SCAC Matches

September 25, 2010, Sewanee, Tenn. —  DePauw went the distance in its opening two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches and came away with a split. The Tigers opened with a 3-2 win (25-22, 16-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-10) over Trinity before dropping a 3-2 decision to seventh-ranked Colorado College (24-26, 25-19, 27-29, 25-19, 15-10).

In the win over Trinity, Abby Balbach led the way with 14 kills and two service aces, while Ali Smith had 47 assists. Madison Hoenig and Kylee Lehrman each had 23 digs and Paige Thompson had five blocks.

Annie Collier led the Tigers with 15 kills against Colorado College with Smith chipping in 52 assists. Lehrman led the way with two aces with Hoenig totaling 25 digs and Thompson four blocks.

The Tigers (8-8, 1-1 SCAC) take on 20th-ranked Austin and Sewanee on Sunday.
