DePauw and Millsaps, Both Undefeated in SCAC, Face Off in Mississippi Saturday
September 30, 2010
September 30, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — A preview in Mississippi's Jackson Clarion-Ledger begins, "The thumbnail scouting report on undefeated DePauw is daunting: Eighteen starters back from the 2009 league championship team; leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in total offense, defense and turnover margin; new quarterback leads the league in passing; All-America receiver holds the school's all-time receiving yardage record."
Millsaps head coach Aaron Pelch tells the newspaper, "They're big up front on both sides. They tackle well. They knock you off the ball. They're well-coached. It's the most fundamentally sound team we'll have seen."
"Millsaps (2-2, 2-0 SCAC) is coming off a hard-to-come-by road win at Trinity, where the Majors showed some consistency in the second half and should have gained some confidence," writes Mike Christensen. 'DePauw (3-0, 2-0) won last year's game -- Millsaps' only league loss -- and claimed the SCAC's Division III playoff berth as a result."
You'll find the article, headlined "DePauw poses rugged challenge for Millsaps," at the newspaper's website.
Saturday's game kicks off at 1 p.m. CST (2 p.m. Greencastle time). It can be heard live on student radio station WGRE (91.5 FM or via this link).
