Desmarais Chosen SCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

September 30, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw junior defender Andrew Desmarais was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performances in the Tigers' conference wins over Oglethorpe and Sewanee. He shared the honor with Colorado College's Ben Shapleigh.

Desmarais spearheaded DePauw's defensive efforts in a pair of 1-0 shutouts. He also scored the Tigers' lone goal in the win over Sewanee.

As a team, the Tigers entered the week ranked sixth in Division III goals against average and seventh in shutout percentage. In posting an 8-1 record this season, DePauw has allowed just two goals.

The Tigers travel to Birmingham-Southern on Friday for an 8 p.m. contest.
