Former Tiger Coach Royce Waltman Joins IU Basketball Broadcast Team

5427October 8, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "Former Indiana University assistant coach Royce Waltman has signed a one-year contract to serve as commentator on IU men's basketball radio broadcasts," reports the Indianapolis Star. Jeff Rabjohns writes, "Waltman hasn't done color commentary before, but he has a wealth of coaching experience from his days as an IU assistant and head coach at DePauw, University of Indianapolis and Indiana State. He has led teams to the NCAA Tournament in Division III, Division II and Division I."

Waltman served as head men's basketball coach at DePauw University from 1987 to 1992.  His Tiger teams posted an overall record of 100-36 and the 1989-90 squad went to the NCAA Division III final game, losing by one point. Waltman was named the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year that season.
