Monon Bell Rivalry Produces "Unforgettable Saturdays," Notes Column
October 25, 2010
October 25, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "Win or lose, I've never had a bad time at a college football game," writes Tom Brew in the Indianapolis Star. "Florida State-Miami showdowns and grudge matches like IU-Purdue and even Wabash-DePauw have been unforgettable Saturdays."
He adds, "There's no better sporting experience to me than a college football Saturday. Sure, I watch with earnest on Sundays, but if I had to choose only one, it's a no-brainer. Gimme my Saturdays. I love the pregame tailgate year after year under the same towering oak tree, the intense atmosphere around the stadium and that rabid school spirit that engulfs everyone, from the 8-year-old boy to the 88-year-old grandfather who would never miss a game."
