DePauw-Illini Football Coaching Connection Noted
November 10, 2010
November 10, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "Congratulations to former Centennial and Illinois football player Robby Long, who is in his second season as head coach at DePauw," writes Bob Asmussen of the News-Gazette of East Central Illinois. "The Division III Tigers are 9-0 and just clinched the SCAC title. Long's nationally ranked team plays bitter rival Wabash on Saturday before opening the Division III playoffs Nov. 20."
The news item notes, "Long isn't the only former Centennial standout on the staff. Dustin Ward serves as his offensive coordinator. And former Illini safety Bobby Jackson is special teams coach and works with the secondary. Long's 2010 team has played well in close games, winning five by 10 points or less."
