Unbeaten DePauw Travels to Crawfordsville for 117th Gridiron Meeting with Wabash

November 11, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw, ranked 18th in the latest coaches' poll and 21st by D3football.com, puts its 9-0 record on the line when it travels to Crawfordsville on Saturday for the annual Monon Bell game against Wabash. Kickoff from Hollett Little Giant Stadium is scheduled for 1:07 p.m. with the HDNet national telecast beginning at 1 p.m.
The Tigers are off to the first 9-0 start in school history and earned the outright Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title last week with a 30-20 win over Austin.
DePauw is headed back to the NCAA Division III Championship for the second straight year after earning the conference's automatic qualification into the playoffs.
Wabash is 7-2 overall after last week’s 34-17 loss at Wittenberg. The Little Giants are 4-0 at home this season.
The series started in 1890 and the schools have met for possession of the 300-pound Monon Bell each year since 1932. This year marks the 100th straight year the two teams have squared off as 1910 was the last interruption in the rivalry.
Wabash took a 54-53-9 lead after last year’s 32-19 win in Greencastle. The Tigers have won two of the last three meetings overall and five of the last seven in Crawfordsville. DePauw holds a 37-35-6 advantage in games played for possession of the Monon Bell.
