Four Tigers Earn Spots on All-SCAC Men's Soccer Team; Sprenkel Named Conference's Top Defender

November 18, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw junior goalkeeper Nathan Sprenkel was one of four DePauw student-athletes to earn a spot on the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Team and was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.
Sprenkel posted 10 shutouts on the season and led the Tigers to a school record-tying 12 as a team. He posted a conference-best 0.43 goals against average which is the fifth lowest in SCAC history. He saved 63 goals on the season for an .887 saves percentage. It marked the third straight year a DePauw player earned the league's top defensive player honor.
Senior defender Stephen Keller joined Sprenkel on the first team and was another key element of the defense which allowed just eight goals on the season. Keller also scored a goal on a penalty kick.
Junior defender Andrew Desmarais was a second team choice after earning third team honors last year. He scored one goal and added an assist this year. Freshman midfielder George Elliott was a third team selection and assisted on three goals.
DePauw finished with a 14-2-2 overall record and in third in the SCAC standings with an 8-1-2 conference record.
