Phil Sharp '64 Presents at Platts Global Energy Outlook Forum

December 2, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Phil Sharp, president of Resources for the Future (RFF) and a member of
DePauw University's Class of 1964, was among the presenters at yesterday's fourth annual Platts Global Energy Outlook Forum. The sessions, which examined "Clean Energy: Fact or Fiction?," took place at McGraw-Hill's headquarters in midtown Manhattan. Other presenters included John Hofmeister, CEO of Affordable Energy and former president of Shell Oil; Mark Brownstein, deputy director of the energy program at the Environmental Defense Fund; and Malcolm Keay, a senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute.

Phil Sharp served ten terms as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana and had a lengthy tenure on the faculty of the John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Institute of Politics at Harvard University. He is a member (along with former U.S. Representative and 1952 DePauw graduate Lee Hamilton) of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future. He delivered the 1986 commencement address at DePauw.
