Josh Buis '01 Named Head Football Coach at Greencastle HS

December 9, 2010

82237December 9, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Josh Buis, a 2001 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed head varsity football coach at Greencastle High School.  Buis served as the team's defensive coordinator this past season. "He has coached football in different capacities at Grand Valley State University, Northwestern University and Eastern Michigan University," notes a story in today's Banner-Graphic.

"My job as a coach is to turn these boys of fall into men of honor, men of respect and men of discipline," Buis tells the newspaper. "If I can help them become better people, to be better men and future husbands and fathers and if we happen to win some football games in that process, great. If not, that's okay. The most important thing is to get these kids where they need to get to."

Buis earned three varsity letters playing football, a team he captained earning All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Academic All-SCAC honors.

T.J. Lang, an offensive lineman for the National Football League's Green Bay Packers, played for Buis at Eastern Michigan. "I can tell you, coach Buis is one of the smartest coaches I've ever played around," Lang stated in July. "I'm talking about every level of football I've played."
