Prof. Jeff Bay '85 Named Division Chair at Maryville College

December 20, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Jeff Bay, associate professor of statistics at Maryville College in Tennessee and 1985 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed chair of Maryville's math and computer science division. He will assume the new role effective January 1, 2011.
Professor Bay is a "fine scholar and teacher with proven leadership skills," says Jeff Fager, vice president and dean of Maryville College. "Jeff chaired the college's planning and budget advisory committee and the planning committee for our current strategic plan. He can see the 'big picture' and organize groups to achieve important goals."
Bay joined the Maryville faculty in 1997. A mathematics major at DePauw, he earned a master's degree in statistics from the University of Missouri and a doctorate in statistics from North Carolina State University.
