January 3, 2011
January 3, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Devontae Morgan, a junior guard at Florida's Tampa Prep High School, has committed to play college basketball for Butler University. The Indianapolis Star's David Woods writes, "Tampa Prep's longtime coach is Joe Fenlon, brother of Bill Fenlon, who coached Stevens at DePauw University. The Tampa Prep coach let Butler know that Morgan was a player worth recruiting, and Stevens and assistant Micah Shrewsberry [a former DePauw assistant] took it from there." "I love Brad Stevens," says Morgan, who was also recruited by Clemson, South Florida, Central Florida, Colorado, and several other colleges. "I just think it's a great opportunity for me, so I'm taking advantage of it."
