Gil Duran '98 Appointed Press Secretary for California Gov. Jerry Brown

89644January 6, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Gil Duran, a 1998 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed press secretary in the office of California Governor Jerry Brown. Duran served as communications director for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein from 2008 to 2010. Previously, he served as press secretary to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa from 2007 to 2008. He was an aide and press secretary to then-Mayor Brown from 2004 to 2007.
