Barbara Yuncker '43 is First Woman at NY Post's Copy Desk

89675April 30, 1945, Greencastle, Ind. — Barbara Yuncker, a 1943 graduate of DePauw University, has become the first woman ever employed on the copy desk of the New York Post.  She comes to the newspaper from the Wall Street Journal, where she has been employed since receiving her DePauw degree.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of DePauw, Yuncker was active in journalism organizations on campus.  She is currently serving as secretary-treasurer of the University's New York Alumni Association.
