Ryan Prall '98 Joins IU School of Medicine Faculty

90276February 2, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — F. Ryan Prall, M.D., a 1998 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute, Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Prall comes to his new post from Loma Linda University, where he was an instructor and fellow in retina and vitreous surgery.

"Prall previously worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cheyenne, Wy.," notes the Indianapolis Star's "Fast Track" column. "Prior to that, he provided medical and surgical treatment for eye diseases in Ghana, West Africa. Prall completed a medical and surgical internship at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore., an ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, and a fellowship in retina and vitreous surgery at Loma Linda University."

The newspaper notes Prall's degree from DePauw, where he majored in biological sciences, and that he received his medical degree from Indiana University. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology, and the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology.
