DePauw Blanked for Second Straight Game

February 20, 2011, Maryville, Tenn. — DePauw was held to four hits and host Maryville (Tenn.) scored both of its runs in the second inning in a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 1-2 on the season, while Maryville improved to 4-3.
Maryville's Blaine Reese drove in Kyle Cyprysiak and Blake Gentry with a second-inning single and that would be the game's only runs.
DePauw's best scoring chance came in the fourth when Jason Cohen singles and moved to second when Zach Galyean reached after being hit by a pitch. Sam Swafford singled to left, but Cohen was thrown out at the plate for the third out.
Four different Tigers collected one hit each with Alex Wright's double serving as the game's only extra base hit. Six different Scots had one hit apiece.
Maryville starer Johnny Lingo improved to 1-0, while DePauw's Mike Peterson dropped to 0-1.
The Tigers are scheduled to host Anderson on Saturday, February 26, in a Noon doubleheader.
