James Ward '47 is DePauw's New Director of Publicity

Ward, a 1947 graduate of DePauw University, today assumed the duties of director of publicity at his alma mater.  He succeeds Professor Frederick L. A native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Ward has been associated with the Birmingham Age-Herald in Alabama.  He has also done publicity work for the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Associated Industries of Alabama, and other organizations.

During the war he served in the Pacific Theater for three years and ten months as a technical sergeant, winning the silver star award for exceptional bravery in battle.  Originally a member of DePauw's Class of 1941, he returned to the University after the war to complete his undergraduate work.
