#6 DePauw Sweeps Trine; Improves to 16-2-1

April 3, 2011, Noblesville, Ind. — Sixth-ranked DePauw improved to 16-2-1 on the season after sweeping a doubleheader against Trine at Noblesville High School. The Tigers won the first game, 2-1 and took the nightcap, 4-0. Trine dropped to 14-5 with the losses.
In the first game, Trine took a 1-0 lead in the fourth as Tara Sipperley was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a passed ball and later scored on Lauren Harris' single.
The Tigers' two runs came in the sixth as Brianne Weeks reached on an error and moved to third when Emma Minx reached on a two-base error. Haley Buchanan then reached on an error which allowed Weeks to score before Amy Hallett's grounder plated Minx.
Cymone Allen had the Tigers' lone hit, while Harris and Haleigh Daniels each had two of the Thunder's five hits. Emily Bichler improved to 14-2 with the win, while Andi Gasco dropped to 8-3.
In the nightcap, Bichler pitched a four-hit shutout in improving to 15-2. The Tigers scored twice in the third as Allen singled and advanced to second on an error before Weeks singled and stole second. Jen Kosinski then delivered a two-run double.
In the sixth, Minx led off with a single and moved to second when Buchanan reached on an error on a sacrifice bunt. Amy Hallett's fly out advanced the runners a back before Holly Paris drove in both with a single.
The Tigers totaled eight hits as eight of the nine players in the lineup collected one each. Four different Trine players collected one apiece. Rachel Wisman dropped to 6-2 with the loss.
