Ross Named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

April 6, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — After pitching a scoreless 11 innings last week, DePauw junior left-hander Elliott Ross has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Ross tossed a two-hit, nine-inning complete game shutout to lead the Tigers to a 9-0 win over SCAC rival Oglethorpe on Saturday. Ross retired the first 23 batters he faced on his way to striking out 13. He walked just one batter in the win.
He also pitched two innings in relief March 29 against Franklin in which he struck out two while scattering four hits without allowing a walk. For the week, Ross did not allow a single run in 15 innings of work, struck out 15 and tallied a 0.47 WHIP (walks + hits/innings pitched).
