DePauw Men Place Fourth at SCAC Track and Field Championships

April 23, 2011, Memphis, Tenn. — DePauw's men totaled 138.5 points and finished fourth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Rhodes College. Centre won with 168.5 points followed by Rhodes with 152 and Trinity with 145.
DePauw's Kyle Mackey won the pole vault (4.10 meters/13-5.25), while Robert Steele took first in the 400 meters in 49.35 seconds. Steele was also third in the 200 meters in 22.66 seconds. Noah Droddy placed second in both the 5,000- and 10,000 meters in 15:24.04 and 32:37.74, respectively.
Tyler Doane was second in the shot put (14.07 meters/46-2) as was Mike Benson in the discus (42.74 meters/140-3). Tyler Giesting placed third in the 800 meters (1:54.24), while Myron Burr did the same in the 110 hurdles (15.46 seconds). Nick White also finished third in the 400 hurdles in 56.89 seconds, while David Garrett rounded out DePauw's individual all-conference finishes with a third-place showing in the pole vault (3.95 meters/12-11.5).
The Tigers' 4 x 100 relay of Myron Burr, Steve Wojanis, Charles Pierre and Steele was second in 43.02 seconds and the 4 x 400 relay of Nick White, Kyle Mackey, Tyler Giesting, Robert Steele finished third in 3:26.99.
