#17 DePauw Hosts First Three Rounds of NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships

May 9, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw University has been selected as a host of first, second and third round matches of the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship. Play at the Blackstock Courts begins Thursday, May 12 with the second round set for Friday and the third round on Saturday.
Thursday's opening-round matches feature Baldwin-Wallace (18-7) against #30 Wheaton, Ill. (20-2) at 10 a.m. and Albion (14-3) taking on Grove City (13-2) in the 2 p.m. match.
The 17th-ranked and host Tigers (13-9) open play on Friday at 10 a.m. against the Baldwin-Wallace/Wheaton winner, while sixth-ranked Denison (16-4) faces the Albion/Grove City winner at 2 p.m.
Friday's winners meet at Noon on Saturday for the right to play in the Division III Quarterfinals. Admission for all five matches is free of charge. Live scoring will be available for every match.
Baldwin-Wallace, the Ohio Athletic Conference champion, is making its fourth appearance overall and fourth in the last five years with a 1-3 all-time record in tournament play. Wheaton won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title and is appearing in its sixth NCAA tournament and fourth straight with a 6-5 mark.
Albion won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship and is making its sixth NCAA trip and first since 2008 with a 1-5 record. Grove City, the President's Athletic Conference winner, earned a third straight NCAA appearance and is 1-2 in tournament play.
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion DePauw is appearing in its 10th NCAA tournament and seventh consecutive with an all-time mark of 8-9, while North Coast Athletic Conference winner Denison is in its 11th national tournament and 10th straight with a 16-10 record,
