Rardon and Miles Earn ITA Regional Honors

May 18, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw junior Michael Rardon (far left) and freshman Sam Miles (near left) were each honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as regional award recipients.
Rardon was selected as the ITA Division III Central Region Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award winner. A team captain as a junior, Rardon has posted a 15-17 record primarily at number one singles for the 17th-ranked Tigers and 23-5 in doubles action also primarily at the number-one flight.
Other regional winners included Kaz Murata (Mary Washington), Spencer Cheng (Skidmore) and Andrew Giuffrida (California Lutheran).
Miles was named the ITA Division III Central Region Rookie of the Year. In his first collegiate season, Miles finished with a 26-8 singles record while playing primarily at the number-two flight. He also was 21-8 in doubles play
Other regional winners included Robert Kjelberg (North Carolina Wesleyan), Matthew Micheli (Williams) and Chris Wiechert (Pomona-Pitzer).Back
