Joseph Flummerfelt '58 Part of NY Philharmonic International Radio Broadcast

June 4, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — The New York Choral Artists, directed by Joseph Flummerfelt, a 1958 graduate of DePauw University, will among the performers heard in a national and international broadcast of The New York Philharmonic This Week on June 23. The program will feature the New York Philharmonic Orchestra's production of Leoš Janácek's opera, The Cunning Little Vixen, which is being staged at Avery Fisher Hall, June 22-25.
Joseph Flummerfelt, a 1958 graduate of DePauw University, has been called "the greatest choral conductor in the world" by Leonard Bernstein and was named 2004 "Conductor of the Year" by Musical America. He's currently conducted the Spoleto USA production of The Medium, which opens tomorrow.
Flummerfelt returned to his alma mater in the spring of 2005 as a Distinguished Visiting Professor.Back
