July 8, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw sophomore Paige Gooch added to her list of honors from her first collegiate golf season as she was named to the National Golf Coaches Association Division III All-American Scholar Team.
Gooch was one of 74 Division III student-athletes and 566 overall selected to the team. Selection criteria to the All-American Scholar Team includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
The NGCA's Division III Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-America selection, Gooch averaged 80.1 strokes over her 24 rounds. She was the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference individual champion and was named both the league's Player and Freshman of the Year.
Gooch posted six top-10 finishes among the 12 tournaments in which she competed with a low round of 74 at the Katman Klassic in April. She finished in a tie for 14th at the NCAA Division III Championships in May.
The Tigers finished the 2010-11 season in fifth at the rain-shortened NCAA Championships after entering as the top-seeded team and ranked second in the Coaches' Poll. DePauw has made 10 straight NCAA appearances and finished in the top five eight times.
