University Choir to Perform at National Conference

November 1, 1965

100359November 1, 1965, Greencastle, Ind. — The 48-voice DePauw University Choir has been selected to perform during the American Choral Directors' national convention next March.  Under the direction of Professor Joseph Flummerfelt '58 (pictured),  the Choir will sing half of the convention's final concert.  The other concert choir on the program is yet unnamed.

The event will take place in Kansas City, Missouri.

With the emphasis of the convention on contemporary choral music, the final concert will premiere a work by Boston composer Daniel Pinkham commissioned by the ACD.  The two choirs will join to perform the new work under Pinkham's baton.

The DePauw University School of Music is the sixth-oldest school of music in the United States.  Visit it online.
