August 24, 2011

87258August 24, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Evansville, Indiana is preparing to dedicate a new indoor arena in its downtown area, the Ford Center, and DePauw University will be part of the $127 million, 11,000 seat venue's first public event. In a story noting that Bob Seger will perform in concert at the Ford Center on November 9, the Evansville Courier & Press reports, "the Ford Center’s official opening ceremony won’t take place until two days after the Seger concert, which isn’t the first event scheduled for the new arena. The University of Evansville men's basketball team will play exhibition games at the Ford Center against DePauw on Oct. 29 and University of Illinois Springfield five days before the concert."
