Suburban Chicago Newspaper Features Bev Patterson Frier '52

102781September 19, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — "When Bev Patterson was a young mother living in Milwaukee with her husband and two young children, she never imagined she’d end up living in Naperville, certainly not to become an entrepreneur and property owner," begins an article in the Naperville Sun.  The suburban Chicago publication details the path the businesswoman took after graduating from DePauw University in 1952, including -- beginning at age 37 -- operating four piano and organ showrooms that bore her name, and investing in commercial real estate.  Also a pilot, she's a member of United Flying Octogenarians.

94555Earlier this year, Beverly (Grant) Patterson Frier received the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce's Lifetime Achievement Award.

"We often say Naperville is a community made up of ordinary people who do extraordinary things," stated chamber president and CEO John Schmitt said. "Bev is an exemplary representation of the great business and civic leaders we have in our community."
