Sprague's Two Goals Lift DePauw to NCAC Victory

62409October 25, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Dana Sprague scored twice in a five-minute span of the second half and lifted DePauw to a 2-1 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over visiting Wittenberg.

DePauw improved to 5-10-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg dropped to 8-8-1 overall and 3-4 in the conference.

Wittenberg took a 1-0 lead at 59:02 on Kailey Striebel's goal, but Sprague's first goal just 52 seconds later on an assist from Alex Ehr knotted the score at 1-1. Sprague's game-winner came at 64:19 on Lauren Hannan's assist.

Wittenberg held a 12-11 edge in shots and a 4-2 margin in corners. DePauw's Caroline Kerr totaled seven saves, while Wittenberg's Melissa Gartner totaled four.

DePauw wraps up NCAC regular season play on Saturday when it hosts Oberlin at Noon.
