DePauw Advances to NCAC Field Hockey Championship after 4-1 Semifinal Win over Wooster

November 2, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship game with a 4-1 semifinal win over the College of Wooster. Saturday's title contest is slated for Noon at Denison as the Tigers and Big Red meet for the second time in eight days.
Paige Henry put the Tigers on the board at 15:48 on Bridgette Shamleffer's assist before Courtney Wood made it 2-0 with Margaret Ellis assisting at 20:15.
DePauw expanded the lead in the second half as Ellis scored off a penalty corner at 43:17 and Henry added a second goal on Maggie Campbell's assist at 45:30. Maddie Hart scored Wooster's lone goal with 4:10 left.
The Tigers outshot Wooster 15-1 and held a 14-3 edge in corners. Maggie Steele recorded the win in goal for DePauw, while Liz Plumley totaled five saves for the Fighting Scots.
DePauw improved to 16-2 with the win, while Wooster finished its season at 9-10.Back
