Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw, ranked second by Golfstat.com and third in the latest coaches' poll, has earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships for the 11th straight year. The Tigers are among 19 schools competing in the 72-hole tournament which is scheduled for May 8-11 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.

The Tigers captured the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship in April and won three different events this year. DePauw has finished no worse than second in 11 of 12.

DePauw averages 317.5 strokes per round and all five Tigers in the lineup for the NCAA Championships have won a tournament this year. Kelly Gaughan (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) leads DePauw with a 79.2 stroke average followed by Paige Gooch (So., Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) and Kelsey Smith (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) at 79.9. Taylor Beaty (Sr., Decatur, Ind./DeKalb) follows with 80.1 and Abby Dickey (So., Elk Grove Village, Ill./St. Viator) with an 80.8.

Beaty and Gaughan are each making their fourth straight NCAA appearance, while Gooch is competing in her third. Beaty and Gooch each finished tied for 14th last year with Beaty earning first team all-America honors and Gooch second team.

The Tigers are coming off last year's fifth-place showing in a tournament shortened to three rounds due to weather. DePauw has finished in the top five eight times including second in both 2007 and 2008. The Tigers also finished third four times and were fourth and fifth one time each.

Only Methodist with 12 and Wisconsin-Eau Claire with 11 have more NCAA Division III appearances than the Tigers' 10. Methodist, with 12 straight Division III titles, is the only school with more top five national finishes.
