Emma Minx Headlines DePauw's Five All-Region Softball Picks

LGL7802Greencastle, Ind. - Five DePauw student-athletes have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Central Region Team including one first teamer. A list of the complete team is available here.

Senior second baseman Emma Minx was a first team choice as an at-large selection. Junior third baseman Jen Kosinski and junior outfielder Rachel MacBeth were second team choices, while junior designated player/catcher Haley Buchanan and sophomore catcher Amy Hallett were at-large choices on the third team.

Minx (left) is hitting .408 for the Tigers with nine homers and leads with 56 runs batted in and a .732 slugging percentage. She ranks second with 15 doubles and nine homers. She shares the team lead with two triples and her 58 hits are second.

Kosinski is hitting .389 and shares the team lead with 42 runs scored. Her 19 doubles are a school record and she is third with seven homers and second with 46 RBI. Kosinksi, a third team all-America selection in 2009 was a first team all-region choice that year and second team last season.

MacBeth leads the team with a .442 batting average including a team-high 68 hits. She also is third with 41 runs scored.

Buchanan is batting .301 this year with a school-record 13 homers and is third on the team with 43 RBI. Hallett is hitting .362 with eight homers and 27 RBI and has scored 30 runs with 10 doubles. She was a second team all-region selection at catcher in her rookie season.

The Tigers are 31-9-1 after winning the Adrian College Regional and are headed to the Division III Finals for the third time in five years beginning this Friday.
